Conflict PVE as Operational Campaign Content

Concept

Linear PVE is a mod for Reforger Conflict which limits the game to one active AO at a time.

There can be counter attacks but the match will only open one new AO normally. Some exceptions for sites that are really close together.

This prevents players from roaming all over and activating multiple sites.

While it was designed for public servers I believe this can provide an ideal framework for Zeus players to orchestrate intense attack and defend objectives and maneuver warfare across the map.

There is a logistical element at play as well for bob the builder types, who will also have opportunity to fight off counter-attacks.

Flow of an assault

The normal flow of a Linear Conflict PVE assault is:

New Objective pops on the map, notification issued to players
Players then execute an assault on their own time
Once secured the enemy has the option of sending several counter-attack waves
These counters can involve vehicles and sometimes mortar attacks
Enemy mortars have to be located and destroyed to silence them
Some time after securing the Objective a new one will pop on the map nearby and the process repeats
Maneuver to the next Objective can encounter patrols in the wild

Next objectives generally make sense, but if an area of the map is completed, some road moves may have to be arranged.

Impact on curated Zeus operations

If the GM players are willing to play along with whatever objectives the game mode opens they have opportunity to run their own ops in concert with the AI based defenders and counter-attackers generating more chaos.

Conclusion

Ideally a setup like this can lessen the load on the GM players to create and curate the entire event while providing opportunity for them to actively scheme.
